A BIT ABOUT ME
A Little about my journey to becoming a wedding photographer.
Well it all began back in the 90’s working on ships as a photographer photographic events, studio portraits, cocktail parties and so on. I was lucky getting this job, but I managed to pull it off as I’d done film processing and B/W printing in my job beforehand. I worked on seven ships worldwide inc P&O and NCL for several years.
Upon my return armed with confidence and experience in photographing people I managed to get myself a job with Peter Ebdon Studios based in Chatham and in Swanly. They trained me up to shoot weddings using medium format film cameras. I’d get through around ten rolls of film shooting 12 shots per roll so 120 shots total. I’d then have to get back to the studio and process the film where they were then checked anf if something was missed you were sent back.
I’d often never meet the bride and groom beforehand and I’d have to ask who the Bride was if shooting portraits before the wedding when ariving at the church or venue I’d have to ask who the Groom was! This was 30 years ago and it’s a little different now.
I eventually started my own business, opening my first shop incorporating a photographic lab and studio in the High Street in Crowborough in 1999. We were endorsed by Kodak; I say we because my father was a keen photographer and was with me all the way and we won several awards. We worked out of the shop until 2018.
I now run my business from my home in Hildenborough between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. We are about 40mins from Charing Cross and the station is just up the road.
Working from home has enabled me to offer a first class service to my customers with time to think about what I’m doing and to think creatively about my work.
I live with my wife and two daughters and we enjoy traveling, walking and the great outdoors.
